Behind the Images

The natural world is a huge source of inspiration. It’s endlessly fascinating and appealing to Daphne, and we think to most children too. Daphne creates strong, high contrast images with lovely shapes and colours that are attractive in the abstract, while still containing plenty of detail to hang a story on.

The pictures are illustrations to stories waiting to be told.  Things are happening up in the sky, deep in the jungle, out in the desert, and under the sea.  All it needs is a little imagination, and a child wanting to hear or tell their own special story. Escape into their world together …

Creative Journey

Through intricate studies of wildlife and their surroundings, our prints begin life as initial sketches. Daphne translates these sketches into a paper collage, which she then layers up to create the final image, along with some drawing and painting elements. The process is very organic and playful, as she explores the images, paper and textures to find the perfect picture. When all the individual elements of the picture have come together, the final version is scanned and your beautiful giclée print is created.

The Hidden Heart

A heart is hidden in every print. It might be tricky to spot at first, but once found it’s easy to see.  It’s a little token to show that the picture was made with love, and will most certainly be given with love and affection. We hope it will be loved for a long time to come.
